Able to play in either the wing or centre position, Blanch signed on loan for Widnes while at Castleford Tigers and has been there since 2006.

He also earned a call up to the Ireland international squad at the end of the 2006 season and has this year impressed for Widnes, scoring 19 tries in 27 games.

Before moving to England, Blanch enjoyed a spell with Penrith Panthers and will be a great asset to the Wildcats' squad in Super League XIII.
