Gareth Haggerty
Gareth originally played his Rugby league at Blackbrook ARLFC where he gained England Schools Caps and Great Britain amateur caps at both Under 18 and Under 21 level. Gareth then turned professional with Widnes Vikings, before moving briefly on loan to St. Helens; a club where his father Roy Haggerty had been such an influential player. In 2003 Gareth joined the Salford City Reds and was influential in their National League promotion season; a fact recognised that same season by his selection for the National League representative team against New Zealand A. It was whilst at the Willows, under the coaching guidance of Karl Harrison, that Gareth established a big reputation as an impact player. With good pace for a big man, the ability to break tackles and with a fine offload, it was no surprise when Gareth made his international bow for Ireland against Lebanon in 2006. A player of huge potential, Gareth will provide the Quins pack with great go forward. In his spare time, until moving south, Gareth enjoyed coaching at Pilkington Recs ARLFC.
