Irish Masters Tour 2009
Barrie McDermott is to lead a touring party from Leeds / Brighouse to Ireland on December 5th this year. The event is being hosted by Treaty City Titans in Limerick. Peter Lingbottom of the Rugby Football League will also lead a group of masters to participate in the event.
The touring party will arrive in Limerick for ´orientation´ on Friday, December 4th and there will be a welcome party and local entertainment.
The games are being hosted by Limerick Institute of Technology on the Saturday starting at 2:30pm.
It is hoped to make this an annual mini festival as an inititaive to promote the game locally and bring league to a broader audience. Usual master rugby rules apply and its hoped that all players will enter the spirit of the event.
The Irish Masters squad are looking for players over 35 years old at any grade to participate in the weekend. For those interested in traveling, there is a group rate available at the four star Strand Hotel on Limericks Clancy Strand.
