Early morning start 6am call for the boys. Beautiful morning to wake up to, blue sky, as always here. All the group including managers went on an invigorating 40 minute run in the hills surrounding our base at the Sydney Rugby League Acadmy at Narrabeen. At 7am the coaching staff got the players on the pitch for a 1 hour field session, mid morning breakfast followed by recovery session. Following the afternoons training session the RLI squad was invited to the Irish consulate to be entertained by Consul General Pat Scullion. It was a pleasant evening in a spectacular setting where we met many ex-pats. The Consuls accommodation is on the 11th floor of a hotel in downtown Sydney where we engaged with local Sydney businessmen, Irish diaspora and representatives of the Irish press. Following this we met members of the blarney army, our local Irish supporters club in PJ O´Briens bar which is in the basement of the building the Irish consuls accommodation is in. We returned to base in Narrabeen at 10pm for an early night.
