Day 22 - Mon 3rd Nov 08

What a morning for the Irish lads, Andy Kelly named his team and I for one was made up to see good old ugly Wayne Kerr named in the 17. He will certainly make an impact and I along with everyone else over here look forward to seeing the now world famous Wayne Kerr make his first hit on the biggest rugby league stage of all, Rugby League world Cup 2008. Speaking of world famous people I invited Andrew Johns to training this morning and he certainly gave the boys a lift.

He got the kickers and spent time with them showing them techniques that will only imporve them as players and individuals. Its not bad when you can call on a guy who was for years acknowledged as the best rugby league player in the modern game and possibly of all time. He was also named in the aussie legends team of all time. Tomorrow I have another aussie legend booked to come and talk to the lads, but I will keep that a secret for now.

The lads are looking forward to a big game and I believe we will beat Samoa, then go on to make the semi finals and put Ireland firmly up there with the other so called top teams. Its good to see some of the lads putting on some extra bit of weight for this game. But some of our staff have truly let themselves go. My fat mate Barrie Mc now has more chins than a chinese phone book, and Andy Kelly is going to star in Rick Wallers come back video as his stunt double.

Take care and keep on cheering for us as all the boys and staff here want to do Ireland proud and truly put us on the rugby league map.
